Expressions of interest are invited for appointment to the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority (ILGA) Board as a Member or Deputy Chairperson.
ILGA is a statutory Board responsible for decisions relating to the regulation of liquor, gaming machines and music festivals in NSW, including determination of licensing and disciplinary matters under the applicable legislation.
Member
Fixed term appointment - part time (equivalent to 0.45 Full Time)
Each Member is expected to engage actively in monthly Board meetings and ad hoc Committee meetings to ensure that all relevant matters are considered, sound decisions are made and resulting actions carried out.
Deputy Chairperson
Fixed term appointment – part time (equivalent to 0.6 Full Time )
In addition to their responsibilities as a Member, the Deputy Chairperson supports the Chairperson in leading the Authority, chairs board meetings and performs additional functions in the absence of the Chairperson.
An assessment panel will consider expressions of interest based on merit, taking into account a candidate’s abilities, qualifications, experience and personal attributes relevant to the performance of duties of a Member of ILGA.
To be successful, you will have strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory frameworks, not necessarily in the industries regulated by ILGA. Experience in professional disciplines which assist ILGA in discharging its statutory functions such as accountancy, law, public health research, information analytics and the prevention of crime will be highly regarded. Applications from insolvency practitioners are especially welcome.
Members must declare any conflicts of interest and shortlisted applicants will be subject to a probity check.
